I've wanted to own the HGIF figure sets for a while, so I was excited to be able to buy the new ones straight from Bandai (instead of through previous owners on eBay). Fortunately, Bandai didn't make this a limited item, so I was able to buy it from them through From Japan. I ended up saving a bit of money since other online retailers are charging $100+.
I love that these came in a box. They just look so much more professional/beautiful. I've never seen the older sets sold with boxes, so I'm assuming they never came in boxes. I also love that each character has her own slot in the box. It makes it easier to organize them (and later to store them when I put them back in the box).
They were a lot of fun to put together. It was sort of like putting together a little puzzle. The stands took a little figuring out, though. I figured the pegs on the bases were important, but it took me a while to realize that they were supposed to go in the characters' feet. Fortunately, I looked down at their feet and realized they had holes in them. My only qualm is that some of the feet doesn't stay on the pegs as well (like Sailor Moon).
The pictures don't do the figures justice, but they're very well made. The sculpting and the painting are very beautiful.
